The great snow of 2018 hit Shanghai in late January and changed the city for a few days. I posted on WeChat this marks the first significant snow in a decade. Many of my followers were quick to point out that it snowed in 2012 and I was wrong. I reiterated it’s the first significant snowfall in a decade. To be honest, I don’t remember that it snowed five years ago. That’s how insignificant that winter was in my memory.
Snow is rare in Shanghai. Accumulation of inches of snow overnight is a downright miracle. After the miracle snow had fallen and daylight broke, I looked out the window of my apartment and knew what I had to do…Take photos!
The best part about going out early in the morning on a cold, snowy morning is that I encountered a few people over the course of a few hours.
As the morning wore on and the sun poked through the clouds to begin melting the snow more people decided to take advantage of the rare scenery photo opportunity.
