As we wait for my delayed flight in Shanghai bound for Yunnan (云南), I decided to post my scheduled itinerary. The flight was scheduled to leave at 8:45 PM, but that deadline has passed and I’, still waiting for the flight. Chinese New Year is approaching and I basically planned a last-minute trip to Yunnan Province.
We fly into Kunming arriving around 2:00 AM on February 8th and pick up the rental car around noon. Over the next two days, we’ll visit Stone Forest and then Dongchuan Red Land which is also referred to as “God’s palette.” On Saturday, February 10th, we’ll drive six hours south to Yuanyang to visit the rice terraces for a few days.
After the rice terraces is another drive further south to the town of Xishuangbanna which borders Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, and a very tiny portion of Tibet. We will experience winter and summer temperatures over the next ten days. There is a lot to see, a lot of driving scheduled, and thousands of photos waiting to be captured.
I plan to post a short update on this blog every day and several photos of the day. Be sure to follow me on Facebook to get these updates.
